2. What is puberty?
The condition of becoming capable of reproducing
sexually, which is described by maturing of the genital organs
and development of secondary sex characteristics.
3. What are the physical changes?
Pubic Hair
Oily skin/hair
Voice changes for boys
Menstrual cycle for girls
Growing taller
4. What are the social changes?
Start having feelings for same or opposite sex
Becoming more independent
Friendship becomes more important
Sexual thoughts
5. What are the emotional changes?
Some feel hyper, while others just want to be left
alone.
Mood swings (happy depressed)
Several, but not all, may become a bit rebellious
6. What causes difference in development?
There are several factors that can affect your
development during puberty. Some factors are
heredity (genetic, passed on from the
generations), nutrition (eating healthy food), your
weight and fitness level (amount of exercise), and
your general health.
7. What causes growth?
Changes in puberty are caused by hormones. Hormones are
chemicals made in one part of your body, and are carried
through out the bloodstream and causes a change in another
part of the body. Hormones are made and released by the
endocrine system.
