Transcript

  • 1. How to Use PowerPoint Effectively Presentation by Daniel W. Leach
  • 2. BE:
    • Safe
    • Brief
    • Appropriate
    • Versatile
    • Prepared
  • 3. BE SAFE
    • Save your work manually during a pause in inspiration. Only rely on the auto-save function to save what you would not mind losing.
  • 4. BE BRIEF
    • Don’t give us the Encyclopedia Britannica. “The Mind Can Only Absorb What the Rear End Can Endure.” Let us know, then let us go.
  • 5. BE APPROPRIATE
    • The best message is wasted if we can’t bear to look at the color, font, and contrast. And don’t change them in the middle of the presentation.
  • 6. BE VERSATILE
    • Bring your presentation on a memory stick, a cd, a DVD, and have it saved online. Have a copy converted to Office 97, XP, 2003, and 2007.
  • 7. BE PREPARED
    • You are a professional, so know your subject, do not whine about what goes wrong. This is still public speaking and PowerPoint is still just a tool.
  • 8. BE:
    • Safe
    • Brief
    • Appropriate
    • Versatile
    • Prepared
    • BE CONFIDENT
    • YOU ARE READY!
