Do you know anyone who works for us interview question answer
1. Do you know anyone who works for us?
Be aware of the policy on relatives working for the
organization. This can affect your answer even
though they asked about friends not relatives. Be
careful to mention a friend only if they are well
thought of.
2. Do you consider yourself successful?
You should always answer yes and briefly explain
why. A good explanation is that you have set goals,
and you have met some and are on track to achieve
the others.
3. TRAPS: This question isn’t as aggressive as it sounds. It represents the interviewer’s own dilemma over
this common problem. He’s probably leaning toward you already and for reassurance, wants to hear what
you have to say on the matter.
BEST ANSWER: Help him see the qualifications that only you can offer.
Example: “In general, I think it’s a good policy to hire from within – to look outside probably means
you’re not completely comfortable choosing someone from inside.
“Naturally, you want this department to be as strong as it possibly can be, so you want the strongest
candidate. I feel that I can fill that bill because…(then recap your strongest qualifications that match up
with his greatest needs).”
4. TRAPS: This is a common fishing expedition to see what the industry grapevine may
be saying about the company. But it’s also a trap because as an outsider, you never want
to be the bearer of unflattering news or gossip about the firm. It can only hurt your
chances and sidetrack the interviewer from getting sold on you.
BEST ANSWER: Just remember the rule – never be negative – and you’ll handle this
one just fine.
5. Avoid surprises — interviews need preparation. Some questions come up
time and time again — usually about you, your experience and the job
itself. We've gathered together the most common questions so you can get
your preparation off to a flying start.
