Instructions to begin OverDrive.

2. What is OverDrive?
 OverDrive is the digital library that we
use at MCSD.
 Students can borrow eBooks and
audiobooks to enjoy on their personal
electronic devices at home.
 Using his or her username and
password for the district, a student has
access to the titles owned by MCSD and
the digital library of IU 13.

3. Why is OverDrive a
great resource to
use with my child?
We all want to encourage reading
with our children, but schedules
may limit our ability to visit the
public library. OverDrive brings the
library to you, on your time.
You can now select a book with
your child, anywhere and anytime
your have access to Wi-Fi.

4. What do I need to get started?
 A Compatible
Device
 iPad, iPhone, iPod
 Kindle, Kindle Fire
 Nook
 Android Tablet/Phone
 Computer/laptop
 Wi-Fi or internet
access
 School username
and password

5. Download the App
 Sign up for an
OverDrive Account.
 You may use a
Parent’s email.

6. Add a Library
 Click on the 3 bars
on the upper left of
the screen.

7. Add a Library
 Type in “Manheim
Central” and search
 Select Manheim
Central School
District

8. Add a Library
 Select Lancaster-
Lebanon
Intermediate School
Unit 13

9. Add a Library
 Select Manheim
Central School
District from the
drop down menu.
 Enter your student’s
school username &
password.

 Black book is
available to borrow
 Grey book is
checked out to
another patron

to view a sample.

13. Borrowing a Book
 Click on Borrow
button
 Download
 Select Kindle for
Kindles or devices
with a Kindle App
 Select Adobe EPUB
for all other devices
 If reading directly on
computer, or if you
will be always
connected to Wi-Fi,
you can choose
READ in your
browser

14. Reading Your Book
 You will have a
tutorial page for first
book.
 Swipe to turn the
pages.

15. I finished my book…now what?
 You may keep it checked out on your
bookshelf for the entire loan. It will be
automatically returned after 2 weeks.
 You can borrow three eBooks at a time.
Simply repeat check out process for
each eBook or audiobook.
