The Youth Olympic Games 2010 were held in Singapore from August 14-26, 2010. With over 3,600 young athletes between 14-18 years old participating from 205 countries, along with 800 officials, 800 media representatives, and 20,000 volunteers. The mascots of the games were Merly, a sea merlion representing liveliness and youthfulness in Singapore, and Lyo, a lion cub representing passion and youth.
