  • 1. HolesBy: Rachel wolverton Humor Empathy Relief Inspiring
  • 2. Humor• Holes is so funny and it makes me laugh so much. it’s so funny because the author explains each of the characters attitudes toward each other. “this ain’t the girl scouts anymore.”
  • 3. Empathy• I felt a lot of empathy reading the book because I end up at the wrong place at the wrong time a lot of times. i couldn’t help but put myself in stanley’s place the whole time. i felt every detail!
  • 4. Relief• Holes gave me great relief because they ended up finding their way back even through very hard times. The warden and Mr. Sir ended up finding their way in prison. lastly, stanley’s father’s product sold and Zero found his mom!
  • 5. Inspiring• This story is so inspiring because Zero and Stanley never gave up and they found their way. They also had the help of God or should I say god’s thumb to guide them! the author really knows how to inspire people in his writing! This reminds me of my favorite bible verse, “when i am afraid, i will trust in you” psalms 56:3.
