Create File Activity
• The Create File activity creates a new file or directory
with the specified name. When creating a file, you can
also provide the file contents.
• Overwrite configuration overwrites existing file with the
same name, if one exists.
• Is a Directory configuration creates a directory instead
of a file, if it is checked.
• Create Non-Existing Directories configuration creates
all directories in the specified path, if they do not
already exist.

Write File Activity
 The Write File activity writes content to the specified file.
 Append configuration appends contents to an existing file. If
unchecked, the file is overwritten
 Write as configuration specifies the type of file content to
write: text or binary.
 Create Non-Existing Directories configuration creates all
directories in the specified path, if they do not already exist.
 Specifies whether to compress the output file using GZip
format. When you specify GZip for this field, you must rename
the file to use the .gz suffix and use gunzip to uncompress the
file.

 The Read File activity is used to read a file and place its
contents into the activity’s output.

Copy File Activity
 The Copy File activity allows you to copy files and
directories to a new location.
 Overwrite configuration overwrites existing file with the
same name, if one exists.
 Create Destination Directory configuration create any
directories in the destination path that do not already
exist.
 Include Sub-Directories configuration is used when the
source to copy is a directory, include all sub-directories
in the source directory.

Rename File Activity
• The Rename File activity is used to rename or move files.
This activity can also rename directories, but you cannot
use this activity to move a directory to a new location.
• Overwrite configuration overwrite existing file with the
same name, if one exists when renaming or moving.
• Create Destination Directory configuration creates all
directories in the specified destination path where the file
is moved to, if the directories do not already exist.

file. This activity can also remove empty
directories. If a directory that is not empty is

 The List Files activity returns information about files or
directories, or a listing of all the files in the specified directory.
 Modes: The type of listing you would like to retrieve. The

File Poller Activity
 The File Poller process starter polls for files or directories with
the given name and starts a process when the specified
change (creation, modification, deletion) is detected.
 Polling interval configuration (in seconds) is used to poll for
the specified file.
 File name configuration is used to specify the path and name
of the file or directory to monitor. Use the Browse button to
locate an existing file.
 Include Existing Files configuration is used to check for the file
among the files that existed before the process engine started
running.

Wait For File Change Activity
 The Wait for File Change activity waits for a file creation,
modification, or deletion event to occur during process
execution. When this activity is executed, the process instance
suspends and waits for the specified change to occur before
resuming. Polling interval configuration (in seconds) is used to
poll for the specified file.
 File name configuration is used t specify the path and name of
the file to poll for. You can use the Browse button to locate an
existing file.
