Demir Holiday Village consists of 35 single houses of various sizes, built in a valley, surrounded by evergreens, about 9 km north of Bodrum are known as “Demir Houses”. They are vacation houses designed for middle-class Turkish families.

7. Immediate Surrounding of the Site
 The sea front, which measures approximately 1.5 Km,
defines the eastern boundary while the northern and
southern edges of the 2 Km long site are defined by the pine
forests. At the narrow end of the site there is a range of hills.

8. Topography of the project site
 The land then rises steeply toward the hill. The
extensive treatment of the landscape surrounding the
villas has graded the slope according to the terraces and
gardens that result from the development.

9. Climate:
 The coastal areas of Turkey have a temperate
Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers and mild
to cool, wet winters.

10. Historical Background
 Bodrum is the main focus of the region whose ancient
Greek was Halicarnassus.
 The surrounding area is full of red pine forests, olive
groves and citrus orchards, make the region exceptional
for tourism.

 Fresh fish, octopus and sponge combined with long
standing traditions of pine wood boat and yacht
building make the region self sufficient for the
expansion of tourist facilities.

The remains of the Greek monuments of the Kingdom of Caria.

The castle of the Knights of Saint John.
Ottoman buildings are all of local stone.
 The domestic architecture of the region consists of
Simple repetitive modular blocks in stone.
Small rectangular windows.
Flat roofs constructed in timber.
Floored at two or three levels.

19. Evaluation of Design Concept
 Use all the requirements with excellent level of
construction and make it connected with each other.
 Each of the thirty five villas has a view of the sea.
 Nature conservation ((trees could not be cut)).
