By making the size of the FedEx logo bigger than Ups, it shows the viewers that FedEx is better than its competitor, UPS. The Truck’s glass container can be depicted as a prison because the UPS containers appears to be confined inside the glass container, giving a sort of an intense feel inside those truck’s containers. This explicitly shows that the Fed Ex company has control over its rival, UPS. Finally, the background of the ad appears to be an ordinary road with a normal, grassy landscape as the truck seems to be going by; it is as if this view depicts an ordinary truck going by like many other generic trucks where viewers would see on the road. The angle where the trucks is facing as well as how the perspective of the landscape is implemented, this truck is like any other truck on the road. With man and woman being the focal point, the dark tone of the skin contrasts with the white background, symbolizing the lovers to be like a virus - especially the grotesque sensation with the arms wrapping around the woman. Moreover, the text in the bottom right is bolded to get the attention of the viewers, and convince the viewers of the fear of the HIV risk as they were reminded that each time they sleep with someone, they also sleep with his/her past. Finally, the ad uses the color white as white means safety and it is used to convince the viewers to have HIV test before having a sexual intercourse for safety purposes. • 5. a)This ad effectively raise an awareness toward the risks of HIV transmission as the ad reminded the viewer that each time they sleep with someone, they also sleep with his/her past which suggest an uncertainty of the HIV risk.
