Administration overview
Windows Intune’s Administration overview gives you a snapshot of your service in action, its overall usage and
status. You can check the number of seats used, total number of seats, what version of software you are
running and remaining and used cloud capacity as well.
Also included on the dashboard are useful links to help and resources. If you’re a client of ours, you can always

All Devices
This is where you can view more detailed information about your users, update status and OS information
about individual users and machines being managed by Windows Intune. The interface also allows you to drill
down into individual computers and get more information. This is especially useful for troubleshooting
problems with individual machines.

Critical update centre
Making sure that your computers are performing at their best requires keeping your systems up to date, and
critical updates especially, being implemented as soon as possible after their release. The Critical Update view
is handy for this as it shows you which computers on your network may be prone to malfunction or risk as a
result of not having critical updates implemented promptly.

Device Management
Windows Intune also offers mobile device management via the console using Exchange servers to push
notifications and policies to mobile devices.

Device status
Windows Intune 3.0 is primarily designed to work best within a group of PCs rather than single machines.
However, you can still use the Device status screen to check health of individual PCs, their licence, firmware
version as well as security status.

Device Summary
Windows Intune aims to provide a comprehensive solution towards management of all devices under it. For
example, you can even manage phones using Windows Intune as well as viewing their IMEI, when it was last
updated as well as OS version and settings.

Device Updates
An essential component of keeping PCs in good shape is to ensure timely updates. Microsoft understands this
well which is why update functionalities have been well implemented within the build of Windows Intune. For
example, using the Device Summary page allows you to view detailed update status of a machine, which
updates are available for that machine, which ones have been implemented and which ones waiting for
approval.
Offering this plethora of useful info all under the same screen makes the task of device updates, effortless.

Exchange Access Rules for Mobile Devices
Windows Intune is designed for networks which use Microsoft Exchange servers. Using the Policy settings and
tools, you control the level of email access to a corporate machine (desktop or mobile) and monitor data. For
example, restrict access to corporate resources until the user of the device has accepted the corporate terms
of use.

This is perhaps one of the most important screens of Windows Intune. This is the first screen you see upon
logging in and any notifications or alerts will show up here. This allows you to take instant action and solve
issues before they have a chance to negatively impact your business productivity.

Exchange Connector download
You'll need Exchange Connector if you wish to manage mobile devices with your Windows Intune service. Once
this is done, you can create the required user accounts after which you'll also be able to connect Intune to your
Exchange servers.

Endpoint Protection (Malware)
Keeping your PCs safe is one of the key tasks of Windows Intune. the Endpoint Protection screen gives you
detailed information about any detected Malware within your company as well as threat levels of detected
malware so you can quickly act on it. Windows Intune also aims to provide you with more information on the
possible source of the malware so you can take the necessary preventive actions to stop them from happening
again.

Intelligent alerts
Another great feature is the ability to grant multiple administration roles as well as levels. For example, whilst
you may be responsible for handling the hardware maintenance within your company, your colleague may be
responsible for the software side of things. In this case, Windows Intune will only alert you to hardware issues
whilst your colleague will see issues relating to software. This is yet another way Windows Intune helps
