(3.)Profile 3.
 Profile 1- Production.
 Profile 2- Marketing.
 Profile 3- Economics & Finance.
The objectives of this propose business is as follows:
 To make a profit.
 To create employment for the unemployed.
 Providing quality goods and services to customers.
The name of the business is Austin’s Carwash and Guest House
and will be located at Camp and Princess Street Georgetown

so with the business unemployment will be decrease in the
community.
The entrepreneur will ensure that all Factors of Production are
adequately utilized effectively and efficiently. Most importantly is
the fact that there will be some form of business expansion both
internally and externally over 4 years. Finally all government
regulations, quality control measures and ethical issues will be put
in place and monitor in a kindly manner.
4
Description of business
The business will be a sole trader by type and will be operated by the
owner and his employees. The name of the business will be Austin’s Car
Wash & Guest House.
The business will be proving the service of washing vehicles, and a
service of relaxation and recreation.
Objectives
 To make a profit based on investment.
 To create employment for the unemployed youths in the
community.
 Providing quality goods and services to customers.
Mission
To be highly competitive in the business of car washing and
hospitality.
5
Justification of location
The business will be located at 12 Camp and Princess Street
Georgetown Guyana.
Reasons for location
 Proper roads and drainage around the area in which the
business will be located. So the water from the car wash will
drain off very quickly and in the area the business is located
there is smooth road for the customers to drive on.
 The business will be located at least half a mile away from
the capital of the city. So customers won’t have to travel a
long distance to reach to the business, e.g. Customers who
comes for holidays like Mash-Ram-Mani won’t have to take
a long drive to see the floats.
 Many unemployed youths are living in the Charlestown area,
so with the business unemployment will be decrease in the
community.
6
Selection of appropriate labour
Number Type Labour necessary Functions
1 Cleaner Manual Labour Clean rooms in the
hotel.
1 Cleaner Manual Labour Clean the yard in the
mornings.
2 Guards Manual Labour To guard the
compound.
7 Car washers Manual Labour To wash the vehicles.
3 Bargirls Semi-Skilled To sell drinks.
1 Porter Manual Labour To show customers to
their room
2 Desk Clerk Semi-Skilled To give the customers
their keys to the room,
and collect the fee.
 The business will have two (2) cleaners; one will clean in the
building while the other cleaner cleans the compound.
 It will also have two (2) guards; they’ll work on shift system one
during the day while the other will work during the night. The
guard’s duty is to guard the compound.
 The business will have 10 car washers, who’ll wash the
customers’ cars throughout the day.
 It will also have three (3) bargirls who will be working on shift
system, 8 hours rotatable.
 The business will have one porter to show the customers to their
rooms.
 It will also have two desk clerks with will work on a 12 hours
ratably shift. They will give customers the keys to their room.
7
Manual labour is necessary in the business because it’s a carwash
and also a guest house, the car washers will need to work on ideal
timing to wash the vehicles, while the cleaners on the guest house
will have to clean efficiently.
8
Sources of Fixed and Working Capitol
The sources of fixed capital in this business are banks e.g.
barrowing a loan worth $50000 with a 10% interest rate. The
other source of fixed capitol in this business will be the
inheritance that the entrepreneur receives from his family, e.g.
Money and lands.
Working capital will be the amount of money for day to day
operations e.g. Sales and profits and with these the business will
be able to: Pay bills, pay workers and pay creditors.
9
Roles of the Entrepreneur
The role of the entrepreneur within this business will be to
organize the various factors of production, e.g. with the land; the
entrepreneur built the business. Labour represents the amount of
people hired in the business and skills necessary to manipulate
within the carwash and guest house. Capitol represents the
money necessary to pay for land and labour. The entrepreneur
will also be planning and developing new ideas for the business to
provide better services.
Type of production
The type of production that will be used within the business will
be tertiary production.
Tertiary is the provision of a service. Since the business is a
carwash and a guesthouse it will be providing the service of
washing cars and hoteliering to the community and its customers.
10
Levels of production
The type of production:
 The level of production in the business will be domestic level
production.
Description of the level of production:
 Domestic production is when you’re catering for local, community
or country. The business will be catering for the community of
Charlestown and will be using local materials from within the
country.
Qualities control measures that the business should adhere to:
 Austin’s Carwash and Guest House provide the service of car
washing and hoteliering. Two quality control measures the
business will practice are: 1) to have health inspectors to come
into the business and check the guests’ rooms and the
environment to ensure it is workers and customers friendly.
2) If the guest house personnel discover someone violating the
law, behaving suspiciously or an offender wanted by the public
security organs, the matter shall be reported immediately to the
local public security organ. Concealing knowledge of a case or
harboring an offender shall not be permitted.
11
Use of technology
Two types of technology that will be used in this business are:
 Water pump
 Buffer/Polishing machine
The water pump will enhance the force of the water to wash the cars
and the yard faster, more clean and efficiently than a normal hoes
connected to a pipe. Without the water pump the business could lose
customers due to having them wait for a long period for a car to wash.
The buffer/polishing machine will enhance the business because
polishing the vehicles with your hands is time consuming and may not
clean the car like the buffer can, while the buffer/polishing machine is
both efficient and less time is wasted.
12
Linkages
The types of linkage that will be deprived from this business are both
forward and backward linkages.
Forward linkages will be deprived in the business because water is a
raw material, the business will be link with G.W.I (Guyana Water Inc).
Forward linkage is the distribution chain connecting a producer with
the customers. Backward linkages will also be a part of the business
because the beds for the guest house will be bought from another
business e.g. Courts. So therefore the business will have a mixture of
both forward and backward linkages.
One benefit of the backward linkage is that the bed is already made;
you don’t have to waste time and money to build the beds.
13
Potential for growth
Austin’s Carwash and Guest House can grow both internally and
externally. Two ways in which the business will grow internally are:
1. Upgrading with new and improve machinery to wash the vehicles.
2. The business will hire more skilled workers to operate these
machinery
To expand externally the business will:
1) Open new branches in the rural area around the country
2) The business will advertise through the radio, television and notices
14
Government regulations
Some government regulations are:
 License to operate the business
 Employee’s tax
 Environmental
License to operate the business- Without a business license the
business will be illegal and shareholders will not be permitted to
provide a service.
Employee’s tax- Every month the owners of the business will have to
pay their tax out of their payment to the government. E.g. N.I.S
contribution
The environment has to keep clean at all times or the business will be
shut down by the government.
15
Ethical issues
Environment
The name of the business will be Austin’s Carwash &Guest House. The
business will be located at 12 Camp and Princess Street Charlestown,
opposite Nicky’s store. The building will be paint in blue and white. The
environment is a business oriented area, some of the business
surrounding are: NY Carwash, Nicki’s store, Bobby’s internet, and two
drug stores. The environment is very peaceful because there is very
little conflicts that occur there, but in the area it have a lot of people so
the noise level is high. The environment is clean because there is a
frequent garbage disposal system that picks up garbage twice per a
week.
