Protocol testing of Buffalo Networks L2/L3 switch. This is a MLS(Multi layer
Switch) with 24 fast Ethernet ports and 4 GIG ports. It supports basic L2/L3
protocols and features like VLAN, RIP, 802.1x,STP, LACP, IGMP snooping,
DHCP Relay, IP Routing, ICMP, OSPF, SNMP, RADIUS and SNTP,QoS etc.
It required writing test cases and execution of test cases for all above
protocols, reporting the bugs and re-verification of fixed bugs.

advanced services will greatly benefit from the features that IP offers
including layer 2 and layer 3 switching, IP Multicast, IGMP Proxy and

Gigabit bit rates. Nokia recognizes that existing services and some latency
sensitive traffic, such as voice, might requirethe benefits of ATM QoS;

3. MPLS VPN (Multiprotocol Label Switching Virtual Private Network):
Multi Protocol Label Switching is the latest and currently very widely used
technology in all backbone Networks. Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has
set up Nationwide STM-1 Backbone Network for providing VPN Services
using MPLS concept The MPLS-VPN network being the first broadband
data communications network in the country. To provide BGP-MPLS VPN
( RFC 2547 ) services to the BSNL customers and ensuring that system &
resource are available in time.
Enhancement of service levels by continuously monitoring the services
delivery & process in line with changing needs of customer MPLS VPN
core backbone design hierarchical network design covering the entire the
country. The primary objective of this project was to provide diversified
range of services layer 2 & layer 3 to meet the requirement of the entire

institutions.
To provide reliable & amendable services defining the service level of
customer meeting a vide range of requirement including security, QOS &
offering bandwidth on demand MPLS VPN is the first STM 1 based data

also helps in ensuring that data of one customer is in no way accessible to
another VPN customer. It is ideal choice of bank & financial institution. It
also helps in ensuring Bandwidth & throughput guarantee being given to
corporate. BGP/MPLS (layer-3 VPN) defines a mechanism that allows
service provider to use their IP backbone to provide VPN service to the
