• Plant produces variety of custom chocolate
products including the chips for Chips Ahoy cookies
• Application: BI-TORQ Valve Automation has
supplied a variety of automated valves for retrofit,

pneumatic actuators handling steam and water as
part of the processing of cocoa beans

system. The radio control remote provides
control access from the planter, opening
and closing the desired compartment via the
ball valve, controlling the conveyor
functions, and displaying on a light panel
which compartment is open.

• Location: College Point, NY
• Application: Pneumatically-actuated ball
valves for a high-cycle filling application
• Filling Equipment Company builds in-line,
rotary and piston-type filling machines (for
handling from very small to high volume
filling, manual to fully automated), as well as
capping equipment. In addition to using our 3-
piece ball valve, Filling Equipment also uses
our automated PVC valves.

1-1/2” and 2” “high performance” ball valves with
pneumatic actuators after Apollo valves failed
• Valves have extra belleville spring
washers and 50/50 seats for high cycling

over 750,000 times at our facility

conveying ceramic “slip” to toliet and sink
mold injection equipment

automated 3-piece ball valves for Kohler in WI
and Mexico. Because the valves cycle so often
and the “slip” is so abrasive, we recommended
a 3-piece design for easy maintenance and
replacement.

Gala Industries
• Location: Eagle Rock, VA
• Application: Gala Industries is an OEM that designs
systems for pelletizing production systems for
thermoplastics, engineered resins, TPU, HMA and
compounding applications
• BI-TORQ Valve Automation is the preferred supplier of
automated ball valves, including 3-piece, brass, 3-way and
tank valves
• The 3-way valves in Gala’s systems are part of the mixing
process, where raw resins come in from one side and
steam enters from the opposite port.
• Because of the material, BI-TORQ oversizes the
pneumatic actuator

actuators that handle milk and soybean
oil. Limit switches and solenoids are

choice of seals
• After 3 years, the units are running perfectly and

use customized software in order to provide complete
