2. Pre-injury Status
Before his injury this patient
worked as a part time policeman.
He had a very active social life
with many friends. He loved to go
out on long walks and hiking in
the mountains. He also enjoyed
playing rather violent and intense
computer games.
He did not have a car but was
relying on public transportation
every day. He lived with his
girlfriend.
There were no pre-existing
medical conditions.
3. Present Condition
After his injury this patient is
unable to work and is on
medical disability. He lives with
his girlfriend and rarely
participates in any social
activities, mostly because he
has trouble recognizing his
friends or important shared
events. He plays some video
games, but feels he is very
slow.
4. Present Condition
He can take care of all daily
activities like bathing, dressing
and eating. He can be left alone
during the working day when
his girlfriend is out.
He has used taxis and buses to
get out and can shop on his
own, but has not done so often.
He knows how to handle money
and has not gotten lost.
5. Present Condition
He does not complain much
about any remaining
symptoms, but his girlfriend
mentions frequent headaches
and bouts of severe
depression, that cause
considerable disruption of his
everyday life. She feels he
suffers terribly because of them.
