  2. 2. Pre-injury StatusBefore her injury, this patient was a retired67-year-old school teacher. She lived alonewith three cats and volunteered four days aweek in a local library.She had a number of children andgrandchildren who came by regularly.She was also an avid bridge player andplayed every Tuesday and Sunday.Although she had an old car, shepreferred to walk or take the bus.She suffered from Diabetes Mellitus andHypertension, but these conditions werewell controlled with medication.
  3. 3. Present ConditionAfter her injury, this patient is living aloneat her home. She takes care of her twocats (one died since the injury) and hasresumed her volunteer work at the libraryfor two days a week.She says that her children andgrandchildren visit her a lot, it looks likemore than before the accident, and mustadmit it tires her more easily than before.She has stopped playing bridge as shefeels her head is not in it at this time.
  4. 4. Present ConditionApart from an occasional headache thereare some spells of dizziness that occuronce a week or less.She has not driven her car since theaccident but can take care of herself andgoes out alone to shop either on foot orwith the bus.
