2. Pre-injury Status
Before his injury, this patient was a
20-year-old and a second-year, full-time
student at an architectural college.
He lived with a couple of friends in
a rented apartment, enjoyed a very
active social life and had no steady
relationship. He also loved playing
computer games and could drive a
car but did not own one.
He had no pre-existing medical
conditions and ran every morning.
3. Present Condition
After his injury, this patient is attending
revalidation therapy and is improving.
He has not been able, however, to
resume his academic studies and
blames it on his head injury.
He lives with his family close to the
revalidation clinic. He has some social
interactions but less than half as often
as before.
He walks but cannot run like before.
He spends most of his time playing
computer games.
4. Present Condition
There are occasional disruptions due
to the injury, but he is able to do most
of the routine daily living activities.
His family can leave him alone for
more than eight hours and he is able
to get around using public
transportation. He can handle money
and can independently go shopping.
He is still troubled by a slight paralysis
in the right hand which is assumed to
be related to the head injury.
