Magazine Research

The classic car mart
magazine has the main
article in the centre and
other articles taking more
space at the top and
bottom.
The car magazine has the main
article taking up the most and
other articles at the top and
bottom. Plus if you are a fan of
Martin Brundle there is an
article with him in.
This would appeal to people who
want to read about older cars but
still want to read about new cars.
It may also appeal to people who
are a fan of Ayrton Senna as there
is an article on one of his cars in
this issue
This would appeal to
people who like older
cars in particular old
Aston Martins
This would appeal to
people who have
watched Top Gear
and like the
magazines or to
people that just want
to read reviews of
cars.
All of these magazines appeal to people who like cars
and want to read about cars. They all appeal to
different age groups as Top Gear, Evo and Car
magazine would appeal to younger people who like
fast cars. And the Classic Car Mart and Classic And
Sports car would appeal to older people who have
the money to buy older cars.
This is a football magazine it is read
by people who like football. It has
things to do with football in the
magazine.
This is a TV guide it has
listings of channels in and it
can have articles on the
actors in the programs and it
can have articles like a gossip
magazine.
These magazines would appeal to
children. They have the character
on the front like Thomas The Tank
Engine, Scooby-Doo or Strawberry
Shortbread. In children magazines
the character its based on is taking
up most of the cover then there are
stories or other characters at the
other side.
These magazines all appeal to different
age groups the Thomas, Scooby-Doo and
Strawberry Shortcake would appeal to
younger children, Match Of The Day
would appeal to Primary school children,
TV Choice would appeal to people who
want to see what is on Television or just
want to look at gossip And Art Attack
would appeal to people who like art or
watch the program and want to look
through the magazine.
This would appeal to
children at primary
school who like art or
people who watch art
attack on the
television and want
to read the magazine.
This magazine is a bit more recent than
the previous magazine on games as you
can see they are set out the same way
the only difference is one is for Sega and
the other is for PlayStation. Teens and
young adults would buy this because
they would have the an PlayStation and
would want to see what games are
coming out.
This is a magazine on
games people who play a
lot of games would like
this because it is about
something they like.
This is the same as the other two
game magazine apart from it is for
Xbox rather than Sega or
PlayStation. Teens and young
adults would buy this because they
would have the an Xbox and would
want to see what games are coming
out.
This magazine is the same as
the others apart from it is
aimed at younger children
who like Mario and other
Nintendo related content.
All of these magazines are aimed
towards people who like video games I
chose 4 magazines from different
company's and different time to show
the similarities and differences between
them.
This magazine would appeal to
toddlers and young children
who like Cbeebies and like
magazines about their favourite
Television character.
This magazine appeal to toddlers
and young children who like and
watch Sesame Street would like
this because it is a magazine on
Sesame Street.
This magazine appeals to
children who like Phineas
And Ferb because they
would have to watch
Phineas And Ferb to want
to buy the magazine.
This magazine would appeal
to young children and
toddlers who like Peppa Pig,
Scooby Doo, Curious George,
Chugginton or Clifford The
Big Red Dog.
These magazines would appeal to
younger children and toddlers
because they all have something to
do with a television program that a
younger child or toddler would watch
as they are Cbeebies, Sesame Street,
Friends and Phineas And Ferb
magazine.
Masthead: The
Masthead of this
magazine is the Evo
magazine logo.
Body copy: the title
refers to the picture on
the cover.
Anchorage: “McLaren v
Porsche” is the anchorage
text for the main picture of
the magazine.
Strap Lines: a headline
that is above the main
logo but it’s above the
main headline.
The photographers has leant the
camera to follow the camber of
the road and the photo has been
blurred to show the speed of the
cars. The person who is driving is
an older man which shows that he
has worked for a long time so he
can afford this sort of car.
The logo for Evo is in orange which is the
same colour as the cars on the front cover
and the dashes and lines on the cover are
also in the same shade of colour as the cars.
The magazines front cover shows people a
range of articles that are inside the
magazine so people can look to see if
there's anything in there they like so they
can buy the magazine if they want to.
Leading: there is a
gap between lines of
text to show were
different titles are.
The mode of
address is in direct.
Articles in the magazine
have drop capitals and
borders others don’t.
Leading: there is a
gap between lines of
text to show were
different things start.
The anchorage text
is “Back In Anger”
This article in the magazine
has banners as some of the
titles are on coloured
background.
This article has no drop
capitals but most of the
others have them.
This article has a
lead which is the
introductory
paragraph written in
bold.
The contents page has a
masthead as the Evo
logo is on the contents
page.
The cross head is in the
contents page it splits up
different parts of the
magazine. E.g. the cars
that are driven with no
other cars are split up from
the reviews or first drives
of 2 or more cars.
There are other cross
heads for what the
articles are called then
there's a small
description on what the
article is about.
Target Audience
My target audience will be people who like car magazines
and are interested in cars. Aged between 17 and 20.

Question
This graph shows the amount of males who
answered my magazine survey or questionnaire.
They answered all of the questions and that is
good because I can make a magazine on what they
said and ticked. They all answered the questions
how they where intended and they are factual
because they answered it properly.
