2. Geography of Ireland
Ireland is divided in two regions, you
can see mainly Republic of Ireland
and the mainly Northern Ireland. The
capital of the Republic of Ireland is
Dublin , and the one of Northern
Ireland is Belfast.
There are a lot of mountains around
the coast of Ireland , but the central
area is very low and flat.
3. Things to see in Ireland
-Newgrange.
-The book of Kells.
4. • Newgrange: Newgrange is an ancient temple in
Country Meath, near the east coast of Ireland. Newgrange
is over 5,000 years old.
• It is famous because something extraordinary happens
there anually , on the shortest day of the year.
• Book of Kells: It is a beautiful medieval manuscript
wich has 680 pages, they show illustrations of Christian
icons , Celtic created it around the year 800 AD.
5. • Irish Traditions , Holidays and Customs.
St Patrick´s Day: This is a national holiday in
Ireland , people celebrate St Patrick brought
Christianity to Ireland and prevent the island
from snakes.
Halloween: Halloween is on 31st
October, All Saint´s day ,people try to
please the spirits so they won´t take
their souls. Kids usually dress up
wearing costumes and decorate their
houses.
9. • A leprechaun is a type
of male fairy .
Supposedly they
spend their time
making shoes and
collecting gold coins in
a pot at the end of the
raimbow. The myth of
the leprechauns is
probably the most
famous of all Irish
myths.
10. Changelings: According to legend fairies sometimes give
birth to deformed babies.
When it happens the fairies take a healthy human baby
and leave their deformed babies in its place.

played with a round ball,
there are 15 players in
each team and the objet
of the game is to score
points by putting the ball
over, or under the bar

13. Irish food and drink.
• Irish Whiskey : The word whiskey
comes from a Gaelic phrase , meaning
water of life. Since 1990´s Irish whiskey
started to become popular.
• Guiness beer : The brewers make
Guiness from water , barley, hoops and
yeast.
