Network Sharing GSM, UMTS, LTE and WiMax will provide significant Opex synergies in the form of sustainable savings as well as cost prevention. Opex synergies by sharing. Network sharing – summary. Network Sharing can significantly reduce Opex costs and capital requirements. High restructuring costs and write-offs may not be (financially) acceptable (short to medium term). Mobile broadband (HSPA, LTE,..) requirements may force network sharing thereby reducing backhaul investments. High restructuring costs and write-offs may not be (financially) acceptable (short to medium term).
