1. The Detroit Regional Chamber’s Leadership Detroit and Intern in Michigan initiatives have
joined forces to create a new program that will educate interns on how and why Michigan,
particularly the Metro Detroit region is the ideal place to stay. It will give the interns a better
understanding and knowledge of the region, allow them to network with more professionals
outside of their workplace and make contacts in other fields. Each session will give perspective
into the social, economic and service aspects of the region. The timeline covers a course of
roughly three months, and during this time the program will pique each intern’s interest in
staying in the region upon completion of their education or internship.
There is no fee to the employer for the intern’s participation.
