Presenters: Borko Furht, Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering and Computer Science, FAU In 2009, Florida Atlantic University (FAU) received a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to create the site of the Center for Advanced Knowledge Enablement (CAKE) as an Industry/University Cooperative Research Center (I/UCRC) that provides a framework for interaction between university faculty and industry in the areas of information technology, communication, and computing. LexisNexis is currently one of the CAKE industry members. In this session, we will talk about the significance of the membership, joint accomplishments, contributions back to the HPCC Systems community, as well as sharing experiences on including a Data Intensive Computing program in the FAU curriculum. NOTE: This is one of 3 presentations for this session and is the 2nd one shown in the accompanying YouTube video.
