Target your productivity
  Eat smartly ā€“ start the day with a healthy breakfast and feed your brain
  at lunch and dinner!

  Prioritize ā€“ use what works (lists, etc.). Work backwards from goals, to
  milestones, to tasks so that work is broken down into smaller pieces.

  Stop multi-tasking - it drains your energy and is counter-productive.

  Get regular exercise ā€“ youā€™ll have more energy, feel a sense of well-
  being and be better able to cope with stress.

  Manage your time, avoid distractions - turn off your
  phone, email, close your door, work in a quiet area. Check emails 2 or 3
  times daily.

  Work in 60-90 minute intervals - take a breakā€¦get up, go for a
  walk, have a snack, do something different to recharge.

  Live your core values - in your daily behavior.

  Get a good nightā€™s sleep ā€“ as of the age of 18 we should ideally sleep

However, in this world of digital communications, 24/7 news cylces, all kinds of electronic gadgets, demandingour constant attention, wecanoftenbeleftthinkingā€¦. Ā«wheredid the time go?Ā» or Ā«I have no energyĀ». Itā€™s important to make room for winding down times - to refuel via different types of energy sources.Think about the people, circumstances or activitiesthat drain yourenergy. What are the thingsthatyouwouldlike to do or have been planning to do? Look atwhichenergy drains youcaneliminate and startdoingthis. The more youdevote time to regain control of yourenergydrainers, the more youwillbeaware of whatisreally important to you and what are the thingsthatbringyou positive effects.

Weshouldideally drink 8-10 glasses of water during the day.Think DIET, EXCERCISE AND REST.Itā€™s important to takeregular breaks during the workingday as youwouldprobablyduring a weekend day. Letting certain things, people, behaviors get to you can seriously put a dent into your emotional energy and make you feel slow-to-get-going, lacking self confidence, and sometimes even sad.In conflictual interpersonal situations, instead of taking something personally or feel really tense, think of the best way to resolve the situation. Seek clarity, do your best to engage dialogue and then move on!As an example, being a good friend doesnā€™t mean always being there for someone even if theyā€™re never there for you. If you feel that your energy is being sucked away by someone, take some time to evaluate what this friendship actually brings you.How many of us worry about thingswe have no control overā€¦? Worrying drains ourenergy and takesawayour focus ā€“ set time aside to focus on a specificconcern to see if thereisanythingyoucan do about it. When you eat breakfast, preferably made up of whole grains, lean protein, a banana, youā€™re refueling your brain. If youā€™re not doing this, itā€™s no wonder you continue to feel tired a lack of motivation during the dayā€¦.until you give your brain some energy!When you make decisions, youā€™re burning calories and therefore, energy. Try to take decisions at the time of day when your energy level is at its highest.Donā€™tforget to giveyourbrain a break ā€“ like a computer, italso has its maximum storagecapacity!Save yourenergy by organizingyourself. Make a list of thingsyouneed to attend to, maintain an up-to-date agenda.   6. KBBItā€™s important to take the time to reflect on what we want out of our life. Whatā€™s important for us ā€“ what are our values and how do we actually live themā€¦? Are we surrounding ourselves with people who we appreciate and cherish? Are we open to asking for advice, support, guidance?If one tries to do everything alone itā€™s like a juggler whoā€™s hoping he/she can keep it up relentlessly and wonā€™t let the ā€œballā€ drop. Plug into people around you who can be a source of energy and inspiration and return the favor.Often leading such busy lives, we tend to neglect what makes us feel joyful and what things makes us feel stressed, anxious, angry, etc.Why not keep a sort of daily journal in which you note things that made you feel stressed and what you did about it. Then, as important, note things that made you feel happy or satisfied, and why. This is a good way of monitoring your energy drainers and boosters.Devote some time to establish your personal boundaries and core life values and stick to them.Itā€™syour life, sowhy not put into place a plan to live it in the wayyouwouldideallylike to live it.
  7. ALOIn conclusion to refuel our personal energy we need to:recognize the repercussions (cost and impact) of energy-depleting behaviours;take responsibility for changing them; andBuild our energy sources by establishing some of the rituals presented before.

ALOOur statistics confirm that networking remains the privileged way to find a job.But it is interesting to notice that the percentage of search companies is growing and in my view it will continue to grow as more and more recruiters screen LinkedIn to identify profiles.Ads and job boards come in 3rd position and that means it is still worth looking at them, but without focusing too much time.
  13. KBBLetā€™s talk about networking. It is a skillthatyoucandevelopwith practice ā€“ and no, youdonā€™t have to be an extrovert to network effectively!Many of us network naturallywithoutnecessarilyrealizingit. Networking means meeting people to broaden the scope of people you know and isespecially a good way to exchange ideas and obtainvaluable information.As youcansee on thisslide, there are some Dos and Dontā€™sā€¦Doā€™sā€¦Prepared: introduceyourself and yourcore goals, what information do youneed, hand out your business cards to personswithwhomyoufeeltherecouldbe a possibility to connect or collaborate.Targeted: make a list of all your contacts and attend events.Professional: askyour prospects for advice, not a job. Presentyourselfpositively, and professionally, dress for the occasion.Dedicated: networking shouldbeongoing, trackyour meetings, sendthank-youā€™s, follow-up.Active: seek out eventswhereyoucanshare in commoninterests and buildfromthere.Listen! thisis a time to learn more about a company, industry, obtainreferrals, sospendhalf of your time listening.Donā€™tsā€¦Arrive late: add 25% of the time youthinkyouā€™llneed to be on time. KBB When you find yourself in a networking context itā€™s important to listen constructively ā€“ once the person across from you has finished speaking, ask a good follow-up question based on the information you just heard. This shows youā€™re concentrated and interested.Here are a few examples of questions that you may find useful in this contextā€¦Donā€™t overwhelm the person youā€™re speaking with. Ask questions that you feel comfortable with ā€“ and that you know you could ask with sincere interest.Life is a 2-way street so donā€™t forget to give as well. For example, if the person is new in town, ask them how their integration is going, suggest places to go, discuss your sports activities and inquire about theirs; make a connection.
  15. ALOWe have just seen the importance of the hidden job market and of networking in particular. But the point is that you have to define your own self-marketing strategy, combining the different routes in the most effective way according to your objectives. If your prefer to meet people F2F instead of using social networks, fair enough! However, it is really important to not limit your strategy to only one route!So combine the routes and the tools the most appropriate to your needs and to your personality and split your time efficiently. Donā€™t spend too much time in the visible job market: use alerts or RSS feeds to ā€œpushā€ the job ads on your desktop or your mobile to gain time. And manage your energy to be more powerful in the hidden job market.Keep in mind that you are the CEO of your own company and you must think, act, and plan like a business leader. And your first job is to be head marketer for the brand called YOU. Your brand is all about who you are and what you want to be known for. It is the foundation of your self-marketing strategy and it will allow you to best take advantage of the routes you have identified for your strategy.To start with, key principles: - Be yourself and be sincere.- Rethink the way you see your career: donā€™t think of yourself as un employee but as an asset to that you own. What do I do that brings value?- Make yourself visible: manage your reputation both online and in real life- Build and manage your network: donā€™t accept systematically all the invitations you receive on LinkedIn for instanceā€¦- Be consistent: balance substance with style. Don't forget that the way you do things is often as important as what you do. Be always professional.
