'Meraki' is an inter-collegiate educational event, wherein you will experience a diverse and vivid range of brainstorming of ideas and interaction with your own Architecture fraternity, right from the practicing professionals to the students and the educationists conducted by Hiray College of Architecture at Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi, Mumbai.
We have a very interesting mix and heavy panel of very five eminent Architect Speakers who will engage the audience with vivid range of topics and discussions which shall widen the doors of your ideas. The Speaker Panel includes names like....

Late Bhausaheb Hiray S. S. Trust’s Dr. Baliram Hiray College of
Architecture in Mumbai was established in 1977 by Dr. Baliram Hiray
(Former Education
Minister, Government of Maharashtra) with a sole view of providing quality
education to a large capacity of students.
Ours is a charitable Trust supported by qualified professionals and able
mentors who make it their main objective to help in the wealth of learning
for their students.
The Trust has an applauded sixteen Institutions that provide aspiring students
with various platforms to surpass their limitations. It can be seen from the
distance covered since 1977 that we are marching on the path of victory in
all our endeavour fields without exception.
Our mission is to provide a thorough education to students from all walks of
life. The philosophy being that our Institutions should strive for both – academic
achievement and also for the overall intellectual and social development in the
chosen field of study.

Meraki is an interactive initiative of Dr. Baliram Hiray College of Architecture
to create a platform for synergy between students and professionals from an
array in the discipline of Architecture to share views, ideas and mediate in a
whole new way.
The intent behind fabricating such an idea is to successfully commence an
exchange of concepts and impressions to boost creativity and zeal.

Ar. ASHOK KORGAONKAR
As a young man with a
challenging upbringing in Worli in the
early 60's and 70's, Ar. Ashok
Korgaonkar would gaze wistfully at
the city’s changing skyline, fascinated
with the new skyscrapers which had
begun to mushroom.
Perhaps even dreaming of
living in them, which spurred him to
study architecture at the Rachana
Sansad Academy of Architecture.
Despite all the hardships he did not
leave his dreams unnurtured.
Today, he is a celebrity—the
Mumbai-born, Dubai-based architect is
the founder-MD of Archgroup
Consultants, and has entered the
Guinness Book of Records as the
creator of the world’s tallest hotel---the
JW Marriott Marquis in Dubai.

Ar. SHIRISH BERI
Born in 1950 at Pune, India, Ar. Shirish
Beri graduated from School of Architecture,
Ahmedabad, India in 1974. He soon after
graduating joined his family’s architectural firm
and established himself near Kolhapur.
Ar. Shirish Beri's work bear their distinct
mark on modern Indian architecture since
1975. He has designed a number of campuses
for national & regional level institutions for
research, rehabilitation, health care and
education, along with various other types of
buildings.
He probes the multisensory and the
immeasurable dimension of space while trying
to evoke a reflective pause amidst today’s
clutter and background noise. His work is
intensely responsive to the site, the socio -
cultural behavior – human values and life as a
whole.
7. Our Speakers… Ar. YATIN PANDYA
Ar. Yatin Pandya is a highly
acclaimed architect, who has contributed
vastly to the field of research and academics –
he has to his credit over two hundred articles
in National and international journals and
several books, of which – ‘Concepts of Space
in Traditional Indian Architecture’ and
‘Elements of Space Making’ are internationally
acclaimed. Ar. Pandya has
graduated from CEPT University, Ahmedabad
and has availed his Masters from McGill
University, Montreal.
He has won numerous awards for his work
and currently is the visiting faculty to the
alumni of CEPT University and NID.
He believes in implementation of
Holistic architecture - that is - experientially
engaging, environmentally sustaining, socio-culturally
responsive and most importantly
contextually appropriate.

Ar. Harshad Bhatia is an Urban
Designer, architecture professional, writer
and educator based in Mumbai, India. He
holds a meritorious academic record and his
work experience spans through
employment in globally renowned
architectural and planning consultancy,
reputed construction organizations in the
corporate private sector to professional
projects undertaken for local authorities,
public bodies and others. His writing
contributions include articles in research
journals, magazines, dailies and he has also
served as editor for other publications.
An invited visiting faculty at
various universities and colleges, he is also
known for an exemplary communication
skill and is invited to make presentations at
conferences and meetings.
