There are 12 boys and 8 girls in this third grade
classroom. 75%of the students are white, 15% are
African – American, and 10% are Hispanic.
3. Main Objectives
Students will know the elements of a story, types of
sentences, author’s purpose, and how to write a story
by the end of the week with 100% accuracy.

Day 4: What is the author’s purpose for writing this
story?
Day 5: Students will publish and share their stories.

Create a poster of the various story elements.
Listen to Podcasts of familiar stories, nursery
rhymes, and poems.
Use Digital Story Telling to share each student’s
story.
