ThinkingRock is a software designed for the GTD methodology. Many functionality is configurable. The following presentation shows the set-ups a new user should go through.

1. ThinkingRock set up
• ThinkingRock allows users to specify which fields
and options they need or not
• This presentation shows the main options you
can set-up, feel free to look at all tabs
• Let’s start: go to ThinkingRock / Tools / Options

Preferences (for Mac)

2. Select Miscellaneous - First tab is Actions:
• Tick which field you want to use on action panel
• Initial action state - default used when processing a new thought
• If any option is unclear, press the Help button
4. Project options:
• Tick which field you want to use on project panel
• Initial action state - default used when adding a new action to a project
• Sequencing: search for "sequencing" in the help to understand these fields
5. Backup and recovery set up
• We recommend you save your backup and recovery files in different folders than your data file
6. Dates format and Start of the week
Once you are used to the flow, you might want to choose a different screen than the Overview screen
to be called after startup
8. Retrieving emails as thoughts set up
• Enter the usual details for your email account
9. Review Actions set up
Default installation includes some tabs but you can:
• Add some
• Delete some
• Rename them: click on the name, change it and move out of the cell
• Change order
