Carrie
I did a questionnaire asking people what type of magazines they preferred and
the results showed that Music magazines are the most popular magazines among
my age group.
What product research did you do – talk about
comparing the magazine covers / contents pages
Say what you leant from them… eg my results
showed I should included cover lines and a bold font
as my title so in my magazine I included this…. Use
mages rom your research
 I compared to magazine covers, a magazine which promotes and
advertises pop/chart music and one that does the same but for
rock/alternative music I found that the pop magazine used a lot more
bolder colours and fonts where as the rock magazine used more colours
like red/black and white which can usually be associated with rock
music.
This is my logo design I created it on
photo shop using the font Imprint MT
Shadow. I have chosen this logo to
use because it is simple but bold and
it catches your eye.
Show the images you
edited for your cover say
what you did and why you
think it worked well
These are the two images I used
for my magazine cover. I made one
of the images portrait so that it
would fit better on my magazine
front cover, I have edited the
brightness on the pictures to make
them seem more brighter and
stand out more and changed the
contrast to make the images look
clearer and more vibrant. I think
they work well because they both
look very happy together on them
and the guitar makes it look like
there actually musicians.
 I aimed to create a pop magazine
so I looked at another pop
magazine ‘Top of the Pops’ to get
my inspiration on the covers of
this magazine I noticed that they
use a lot of images and text
posts to hook people in. On my
magazine to make it look like a
pop magazine I have used a lot of
images and headlines. I have
used bright colours to make it
stand out and hook lines such as
‘Free posters’ to make people
want to buy the magazine more.
Because my magazine is aimed at
pre-teens I have used a lot of
popular music stars on the cover
so they will want to buy it more.
 For my contents page I again got
my inspiration from Top of the
Pops magazine. I have used
bright clear font so that it is
easier to read and included
pictures on what is inside the
magazine to encourage to buyer
to read on.
 For my double page spread I had to squish it all together as I didn’t have
much space to work with so I couldn’t include a picture but I have filled
all the articles and used clear fonts. Through out the magazine I have
used the same fonts and colour schemes so that it is consistent through
out and looks better.
I have asked my class mates to give me information on what they think
of my magazine I created a questionnaire and have displayed the results
below.
 I think I handled the time management on getting my pictures well and I
had a clear plan and idea of what I wanted my magazine to look like.
 I would improve on how quickly it actually took me to make a start on
this project and get into it but other than that I think everything else
went quite well.
