This document outlines plans for a community-led media cooperative called Clan Media Cooperative. It will be owned and democratically led by members to lift up voices of young, minority, and working class people. Content will focus on local social and cultural issues and topics decided by members. The cooperative aims to launch in summer 2017 with 500 members in its first year producing videos and articles covering the greater Midlands area of issues like inequality, local government, and cost of living. It will be funded through memberships, crowdfunding, courses, and ethical advertising. People can get involved by spreading the word, helping create a manifesto, volunteering time, joining the board, creating content, or becoming a member.
