1. Iván García<br />PGlo SDS Page:<br />SDS page was basically an extension of the overall pGlo experiment. This SDS page was conducted on proteins using the electrophoresis technique. The bacteria used in the previous experiment were used as protein samples in our SDS page. An SDS Page uses an agar gel, which is then loaded with the samples and in each corner is loaded with ladders to serve as controls. Basically the electrophoresis drags down the denatured protein depending on their weight; the further down they travel the lighter they are. This workshop was provided by Dr. Chiesa and was useful in determining which proteins contained GFP and which didn’t express the GFP gene. <br />
