How often do you dial an actual phone number? Most people dial from a directory or a speed-dial listing. LifeSize has brought this capability to video conferencing.
Thanks to a unified, searchable directory, you no longer have to remember or type in ridiculously long IP addresses to reach your peers.
Simply scroll through your contact list and see who’s online and available and click on their name to reach out to them. Very simple and intuitive.
Most important, the directory will always be up to date as it’s centrally managed and prepopulated.
And what about meeting with multiple people? Until now, when starting a meeting you had to make a conscious choice – is this just a person to person call or do I need to include more participants?
With our solution, you don’t need to worry anymore. Simply look for another person and add him or her to the conversation. You don’t have to disconnect your call to go find a meeting room or contact IT to set up a scheduled meeting. You can move from a two-person call to a multiparty call with total ease.
Simply access the directory, find your additional party, and click to call. If someone calls you to join a discussion, all you have to do is click accept. It really is that simple.
Equally as simple is accepting an incoming call. A pop-up box will ask you to add the caller, which will merge them into your existing meeting. Even if the calling party is already a multiparty call, it will merge the two meetings.
Just in case you don’t want to merge these calls, you can ignore the incoming call too. To prevent callers from disturbing your meeting, you can also select Do Not Disturb.
If anyone leaves the meeting, it will continue, even if the host (that is the person who escalated the call to the bridge) hangs up.
Better yet, once the meeting gets down to two people, it will renegotiate the call back to a point-to-point call, releasing the bridge ports for others to use.

Here are some more features of the multiparty meeting escalation. When receiving a call, the caller ID will be displayed to the user. If the incoming call is a multiparty call, you will see the additional participants’ IDs as well.
And what about people outside your organization who don’t have access to video conferenincing?
Wouldn’t it be great if you could send them an invitation and they could easily join a call?
Today, it’s as simple as sending them an email.
Have you ever missed a very important call because you were not sitting in your office? How annoying is that? With the ring-all devices feature, this will never happen again. With all your devices registered to your account, whenever a call comes in, they’ll all ring and you can easily pick up the call from the one you prefer, even on the go.
So you are in your office having a very important meeting with clients. You realize that you have another meeting at another client’s location and you really have to get moving or else you will be late for that meeting. You are forced to disconnect from the current meeting and call back in from another location or device.
Not so with Live Call Transfer. This is a a unique function that allows a user with multiple devices registered to his or her account to transfer a call between devices at the push of a button. If you receive a call using your video systems, you can quickly take over this call on your laptop or mobile phone, and your client meeting continues uninterrupted!
You can remain connected while mobile. Mute your video or audio as you travel, and please, don’t drive distracted. If possible, give someone else the wheel, or take a taxi.

With the ability to escalate the call into a multiparty meeting, you simply press the Add button, find the right person in the directory, and bring her or him into the call. Once the call connects and you make the introductions, you can hang up, leaving the other two people to carry on the discussion.
With the warm transfer, you can make sure the person is available by checking their presence status in the directory and then use the warm hand off in the transfer process. This ensures that the right people connect every time.
