Getting to know your school community Kindergarten By Erika Wooten My goals for this unit is for the students to feel welcome in their new surrounding students can identify, recall, and recognize important people, and places in the school community. Many kindergarteners have a difficult time adjusting to school. This approach will make them more comfortable, if they are able to interact with the rest of the school. Also, could make the student excited about school, not feel nervous. To make Awareness of school bus safety I have arranged for a bus driver come and speak to the students and also give a bus Tour. There is a video called KC’s first bus ride that I would like the students to watch. There are educational games on pbs.org one that I will be using is called Explore with Bob the Builder. There will be coloring worksheets for the students as well as a rebus story, “I like school”. There will be a day where students can also use role playing as a method to get to know different people in the school.
