New York City Rigo Cardenas
City of tomorrow The great depression (1930) Historians name it the day the stock market crashed 10-29-1929.Construction was almost completely stopped. The depression ended at different times depending on the country. Those who had no place to live  ended up living on the streets .
City of tomorrow-2 James J. Walter Mayor of New York City 1925-1932 He had many affairs with Chorus girls he finally left his wife for a showgirl. He used to walk into his office and saw a big pile of mail and     he would ask if there was any checks in that pile if the      response was no he would throw it off his desk.
City of tomorrow-3 Robert Moses  built the first state park system and the first system of the state highways. "master builder" of mid-20th century New York City, Long Island, Rockland County, and Westchester  County  New York. He changed shorelines, built bridges, tunnels and roadways, and transformed neighborhoods. His works remain extremely controversial
City of tomorrow -4 Riots: ,[object Object]
In the riot 3 people died and hundreds were injured.
Approximately 2 million dollars worth of damages was done in 1935.,[object Object]
The fur trade became popular
New york was the birth place for Democracy.
The Island of Manhattan was first inhabited by the Lenape Native americans.,[object Object]
The country and the city ,[object Object]
Washington leads his troops back into New York.

AOL world s leading internet company merges with Time Warner worlds leading media entertainment. AOL controls more than half percent and New York is the headquarters for AOL Time Warner. The Internet changed business and disperse wealth in new industries.

From 1870-1914 the U.S. allowed the largest number of immigrants in its history. Most of the immigrants were looking for work. A lot of European people also migrated to Canada and Brazil.
  • 17. The Transatlantic Migration New ideas created by immigration led to ant immigration. Opportunities in farming, costructionof the railroad and buildings seasonal migration become popular. Immigrants were coming from italy, portugal, france,sweden…..

  • 20. Women were housewife's, mothers and would work too earning really low wages.
  • 21. Americans felt like they were losing their country to foreigners and restrictions began to be implemented.
  • 22. The world war put a temporary stop to immigration.
