Project Title: Concept:
Heinz Ketchup Typeface Create a legible, visually appealing
typeface out of ketchup.
Media Used:
Ketchup Solutions:
Vinyl Sheet Print the alphabet and 0-9 numbers onto 11x17 sheets of paper
Dental Operating Tools and tape them to the bottom of a piece of vinyl and trace over the
Photography characters using Heinz Ketchup Squeeze Bottles. Manipulate the
Adobe Photoshop CS4 ketchup-forms with dental operating tools by “pushing” the ketchup
into proper positioning. Once the type creation was complete,
Research Criteria: photograph each individual character and recreate it digitally using a
Research limited to 3 different sizes of Heinz Ketchup. photography-based character set completed through Photoshop and
a vector-based character set using Illustrator.

Marketers at H.J. Heinz Company
