The document compares two film projects, Invasion and Sanctus, and analyzes improvements between them. It notes that editing, transitions, soundtracks and effects were much stronger in Sanctus. Camera work was the strongest aspect of Invasion while the soundtrack was its weakness. Mistakes were also made in Invasion with shadows and background noise. Overall, massive improvements were made in Sanctus in editing, camera shots using better equipment, focus on characters' clothing and props, and use of soundtrack.
Massive improvements in editing, camerawork and soundtrack from preliminary to main film tasks
1.
2. So looking back at our preliminary task, I can defiantly
see massive improvements from then to know if you
compare it to our main task. Especially with such
things as the editing. You can really see the difference
within the editing between the two, the transitions,
soundtracks, cuts, effects, etc.
3. So in invasion the camera work is probably our
strongest point. While I believe that our weakness
point is our soundtrack, as we had no music, only
using natural sounds that didn’t really work well
with the film itself. We also had some mistakes
within our film, such as shadows of the camera
man, and too much background noise.
4. Comparing invasion to Sanctus are main task you
can see massive improvements in pretty much all
aspects. Like I said before I believe that our
editing was our strongest aspect, and a huge
improvement from Invasion to Sanctus. Much
more soundtrack that fits in perfectly, transitions
that really add to the effect of the horror film.
5. As well as the fact that we had zero mistakes
when uploading our footage, no shadows of
people or background noise, etc. Also our camera
shots had improved massively, this time using a
better standard tripod, and knowing how to use it
to gather the footage that we wanted. Also we
focused more on the mise-en-scene, making sure
that the characters had selected clothing and
props to use. Which we didn’t do last time.
6. So overall I believe that we have gained…
- Better editing skills
- Better use of the camera, and the equipment we can use with
it
- More knowledge of different shots, and how to gain them
- More use of mise-en-scene and focusing on the look of our
characters within the films
- Gained more knowlage on how to get a soundtrack and use it
with our film, knowing now how important it is.
