Mental Health professionals, school staff, parents, and residential treatment
facilities that work with youth are seeing huge increases in anxiety in school-age
children. The questions are: ‘Why?’ and ‘How can we help?’ Leslie K. Fadem, MA is a Licensed Marriage and
Family Therapist in private practice specializing in the treatment of anxiety disorders and trauma recovery. She
provides direct treatment to children, adolescents and families, facilitates anxiety disorders community
support groups, and conducts supervision and training. She is a former public school teacher and counselor,
past director of the Anxiety and Depression Treatment Clinic in Del Mar, California, and is current president of
the San Diego Phobia Foundation. She volunteers as the mental health professional on the San Diego County
CISM Team and the Crisis Response Team for Poway Unified School District, and is an Approved Instructor for
the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, Inc. Please join us as our presenter shares her insights
and expertise on how to better assist our youth manage and overcome these devastating symptoms of anxiety.
