• The history of video games goes as far back as the 1940s, when in 1947
Thomas T. Goldsmith, Jr. and Estle Ray Mann filed a United States patent
request for an invention they described as a "cathode ray tube amusement
device.“
• Since then, video gaming has become a popular form of entertainment and a
part of modern culture in most parts of the world.
• There are currently considered to be eight generations of video game
consoles, with the sixth, seventh and the eighth concurrently ongoing.
4. STARCRAFT
• StarCraft is a military science fiction
real-time strategy video game
developed and published by Blizzard
Entertainment and released for
Microsoft Windows on March 31, 1998.
• About game character - The Terrans,
the Zerg, and the Protoss.
• Many of the industry's journalists have
praised StarCraft as one of the best
and most important video games of all
time, and for having raised the bar for
developing real-time strategy games.
5. DIABLO
• Diablo is an action role-playing hack
and slash video game developed by
Blizzard North and released by
Blizzard Entertainment on December
31, 1996.
• Set in the fictional Kingdom of
Khanduras, located in the world of
Sanctuary, Diablo has the player take
control of a lone hero battling to rid the
world of Diablo, the Lord of Terror.
• This was followed by a sequel, Diablo
II, in 2000, and a third game, Diablo III,
was released on May 15, 2012.
6. LINEAGE
• Lineage (Korean: 리니지) is a
medieval fantasy, massively
multiplayer online role-playing game
made by the South Korean computer
game developer NCsoft.
• It is most popular in Korea and is
available in Chinese, Japanese, and
English language versions.
• Lineage features 2D isometric-
overhead graphics similar to those of
Ultima Online and Diablo II.
• NCSoft announced that due to
unprofitability the North American
Servers would be shut down on June
29, 2011.
