1. MODEL UNITED NATIONS
TOPIC: SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
Good morning, delegations of Mexico, Guanajuato delegation want to present its
official position on the sustainable development of the State.
I. - Sustainable development is an integral process that requires to the different
actors of society commitments and responsibilities in the application of the
economic, political, environmental and social model, as well as in consumption
patterns that determine the quality of life.
II. - Guanajuato is one of the most important delegations, it is one of the main
tourist destinations of the country through a new approach based on the sector's
competitiveness and sustainability.
The most important areas of this state are: The Virgin Glen, The Cóporo,
Remedies hill, Dry Creek, Peralta and Squares showing the wealth of the State,
chairing a good tourism that helps us to have a good sustainable development.
Guanajuato offers equal education, quality, accessible to all and with a true social
participation so, we work to increase the coverage of education in all the state.
Our actions are aimed to fortify employment, human capital development,
competitiveness, detonate the regional potential and get a balanced economic and
social development.
One of the vocations of the entity is agriculture, so we promote access to inputs,
modernization of production systems and specialized technical assistance.

2. We are an open government that believes in transparency and accountability; it
seeks its significance in the honest and timely service to citizens.
Prevention, social participation, training and equipping for our security forces are
the basics in the fight against crime.
Culture and physical education are fundamental pieces on human development of
Guanajuato, so we redoubled our efforts to ensure that the benefits of these
activities reach more people.
To promote human and social development in which all families living in welfare
conditions, we must ensure the quality of life for present and future generations
through environmental protection and conservation of natural resources.
III. - Main goals to follow:
 Families who need it most will enjoy quality health care; we will build more
and better hospitals, specialty units and clinics.
 We will implement a system of regional performance indicators.
 Promote the regularization of 360 irregular settlements of state; integrate an
inventory of high ground available for the generation of land reserves for
various agricultural uses
 Develop and update the land use plan for each case of metropolization and
conurbation in the state and Mexico.
 Design an observatory of the population and implement a new model of
regional development according to current needs.
