The ANZACs landed at Gallipoli 100 years ago to fight for Australia and New Zealand but found an ugly battlefield instead of adventure. Students at NPS school illegally built an obelisk memorial for Gallipoli against the government's wishes to encourage more enlistment, with people contributing pennies for bricks. The Last Post bugle call honors those who died in battle.

The ANZACs stand for the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. 100
years ago was the day the ANZACs landed at Gallipoli. They signed up
looking for adventure and the honour to fight for Australia and New Zealand
but when they got there they saw an ugly battle field.

3. NPS Obelisk
At our school an obelisk at the time of Gallipoli illegally as the Government at
the time wanted more people to sign up to go to war not remind people that
you could die. But against the law the students and teachers of NPS still built it.
People had to pay a penny for a brick and helped to build the obelisk.
