Queen Alexandra Elementary completes a WildED inspired action project!
Plan1
1.
2. VCS is a very good school
when it comes to
conserving including
reducing, recycling, reusing
and composting. Here are
some ways it does just that.
3. VCS’S
Composting bins
For a few years
now, VCS has
been encouraging
teachers and
students to
compost using
little compost bins
in the classroom
witch are
collected every
week. This helps
to return old fruits
into good soil
again.
4. VCS saves
power
VCS has been also
trying hard to save
power, mostly by
turning off the lights
when we don’t need
them on, even when
we are eating our
lunch!
5. VCS CONSERVES
PAPER
Last but not least, VCS
tries to save paper and
help trees by using
both sides of paper
and to not waste more
than what they need.
6.
7. Not only can VCS have compost
bins, why not have recycling bins
too? VCS has paper recycling, so
all we need now is recycling for
the cans and other recyclable
products.
8. HALOGEN vs. FLORECENT
On the other hand, you have
Halogen lights are efficient, florescent light bulbs that are
but they are not more efficient and ARE
environmentally-friendly. environmentally–friendly!
VCS, you should use florescent light bulbs instead of halogen!
