2. Clause 1: Accuracy
Rules:
- Don’t publish inaccurate, misleading or
distorted information, including pictures
- If some thing misleading… was
published, it must be corrected promptly
- Must distinguish between comment,
conjecture and fact
- A publication must be reported fairly
and accurately.

3. Clause 2: Opportunity to Reply
Rules:
- A chance to reply to inaccuracies
must be given.

4. Clause 3: Privacy
Rules:
- Everyone is entitled to respect for their
family, home, health and
correspondence.
- Editor’s must justify why they intruded
into some ones personal affairs.
- Not allowed to photograph individuals
on private property.

5. Clause 12: Discrimination
Rules:
- The editor must avoid including
prejudicial material in their media,
referring to someone’s race, colour,
religion, gender, sexual orientation,
and any mental or physical
disabilities.
- Only allowed if essential to the story

6. Clause 14: Confidential Sources
Rules:
-Journalists and editor’s have a legal
obligation to protect confidential sources of
information
All these rules were taken out of the ‘ Independent
Press Standards Organisation’ I will beware of
breaking any of these rules.
