3. BACKGROUND:
The Rotary Club of Kampala is the oldest
Rotary Club in Uganda.
Founded in May 1957, it meets at Grand
Imperial hotel.
The club is a member of Rotary
International, the world’s largest
humanitarian organization.
The Club has 78 members (August 2014)

Rotary International has for the last 107
years been dedicated to helping the
world’s under privileged people through
the provision of:-
Health,
Education,
Economic livelihoods;
Promotion of Peace and World
Understanding.

The Rotary Club of Kampala has carried out a wide
range of community service projects in various parts of
the country, some of which include:

It all started
in 1988
when Rotarian George Kasedde
Mukasa donated 10 Acres of
Land in Mukono Municipal
Council for the Club to
implement a community service
project.

fully-fledged hospital, complete

The out-patient unit comprises of a
minor Operating Theatre, Treatment
Rooms (dental, eye and general
clinics), Offiffices, a waiting area and
stores.
Construction work was flagged off

by the Governor, Bank of Uganda
Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile on
26th July 2014.
The Unit is expected to be completed
by June 2015.
The construction of the hospital
