2. PRIVATE CINEMATIC SCREENING
For my opening sequence, as the production company is myself, it means that I
have a low budget for distributing my movie. As I am in this situation, one of the
best ways that I can distribute my media product is to do a private cinematic
screening where I can display my movie to peers and family. This would be good
as it will be realist cost effective method. Furthermore, it is a quick way of getting
the word out and promoting my new movie to try and get a larger audience for
the next cinematic viewing or if I display it somewhere else next.
3. DVD COPIES
With this method I could also print out around 100-200 DVD copies
to hand out to the audience at the cinematic show or again just
peers and family. This way the peers and family could hand the
copies out to the friends, which will increase the viewing of my
movie.
4. YOUTUBE OR VIMEO
To add to this, after all the cinematic viewings I will release the full
movie onto a site for example, YouTube or Vimeo. This will be the
cheapest form of spreading the word the movie and increasing the
amount of views on my movie. The movie won't need any money to
upload onto YouTube which will be helpful to me as I would have a
very small budget after a cinematic viewing and the DVD copies as I
am still an student. By having the movie on YouTube or Vimeo, it will
allow a wider range of audience to view it as anyone can go onto
these apps or sites to watch it for free. This is beneficial for me as this
would be an effective way of spreading my movie out and trying to
get it a well known movie that a lot of people have watched which
would be one of the aims set out by myself.
5. POSTERS AND MAGAZINES
On the other hand a much easier way of distributing
my media product would be simply to just design
poster or a magazine for my movie advertising it to
be a new and upcoming movie. This could alert the
general public about my movie and be another
effective way of promoting my movie to the public.
This is because it will cost hardly any money to do. I
could either find an institution that will design a
poster for me to make it look more professional and
like a high class well known movie, which would
interest another group of audiences. Or, I could
easily make one myself which could virtually need
no money at all, however this might not interest the
same amount of people as it won't look as good,
but it might invite a niche audience that is interested
in watching inspiring movies.
