5. Personal Goal
✤ S - I will practice long boarding Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday for an
hour a day.
✤ M - I will measure myself by using a time watch and working with
others who will help me learn.
✤ A - As a person who enjoys long boarding, this will be something I
will actively want to do and improve at.
✤ R - Because I am already learning how to long board, this is
something I can do as a goal.
✤ T - This goal will be accomplished up to 5/20
6. A Reason
✤ I choose this goal knowing it was something I’d enjoy doing as well
as be able to do. I’ve wanted to learn how to longboard and this
SMART goal gave me motivation to do so.
✤ The days I picked also happen to be my busiest days so I get to ride to
classes which will help enhance my basic skills I need, except for
Saturday which I don’t have to worry about classes and so I can
strictly work on various techniques.
7. Steps
✤ On the days I decided I practice long boarding, I’d take my board out
and ride over to my friend who is teaching me.
✤ Once there, I got taught basics and am now starting to practice
different techniques and tricks.
✤ I’d log this through a chart in which let’s me know how often I am
following my goal and how I’m doing.

✤ This is a goal that wouldn’t be logged like most goals, so I came up
with my own chart that would help me accomplish my SMART goal.
9. So Far
✤ My goal is going well and I feel like I have gotten significantly better
at long boarding.
✤ Some days I could not long board due to weather, so instead I
practiced my balance by just standing on my board.
✤ I can see the improvement I’ve made and am really proud of myself.
