Genesis 4:1-11
1John 3:12
…Cain, who was of
that wicked one, and
slew his brother.
And wherefore slew
he him?Because his
own works were evil,
and his brother's
righteous.
2. John 8:44
44) Ye are of your father the devil, and the
lusts of your father ye will do. He was a
murderer from the beginning, and abode
not in the truth, because there is no truth in
him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of
his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
Let’s rewind to the beginning of Cain’s time
and see what we find.
Genesis 4
1 And Adam knew Eve his
wife; and she conceived, and
bare Cain, and said, I have
gotten a man from the
LORD.
2 And she again bare his
brother Abel. And Abel was
a keeper of sheep, but Cain
was a tiller of the ground.
3. Genesis 4
3 And in process of time it
came to pass, that Cain
brought of the fruit of the
ground an offering unto the
LORD.
4 And Abel, he also brought of
the firstlings of his flock and
of the fat thereof. And the
LORD had respect unto Abel
and to his offering:
We only find the boys offering a sacrifice.
Adam and Eve in type do not need a second
offering, the Lamb slain from the foundation
of the world covers them for eternity. (1Pet
1:19-20; Rev 13:8)
4. Genesis 4
5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not
respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his
countenance fell.
Genesis 4
6 And the LORD said unto Cain, Why
art thou wroth?and why is thy
countenance fallen?
5. Genesis 4
7 If thou doest well,
shalt thou not be
accepted?and if thou
doest not well, sin
lieth at the door. And
unto thee shall be his
desire, and thou shalt
rule over him.
Genesis 4
8 And Cain talked with Abel
his brother: and it came to
pass, when they were in the
field, that Cain rose up
against Abel his brother, and
slew him.
9 And the LORD said unto
Cain, Where is Abel thy
brother?And he said, I
know not: Am I my
brother's keeper?
6. Genesis 4
10 And he said, What
hast thou done?the
voice of thy brother's
blood crieth unto me
from the ground.
11 And now art thou
cursed from the earth,
which hath opened her
mouth to receive thy
brother's blood from
thy hand;

I. Respect
4 …And the LORD had
respect unto Abel and to
his offering:
Heb 9:22
…without shedding of
blood is no remission.
Rom 5:9
Much more then, being
now justified by his
blood, we shall be
saved from wrath
through him.
John 16:8-11
8 And when he is come, he will reprove the
world of sin, and of righteousness, and of
judgment:
7. 9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
10 Of righteousness, because I go to my
Father, and ye see me no more;
11 Of judgment, because the prince of this
world is judged.
Rom 5:9 Much more then, being now
justified by his blood, we shall be saved
from wrath through him.
Rom 10:3 For they being ignorant of God's
righteousness, and going about to establish
their own righteousness, have not
submitted themselves unto the
righteousness of God.
Man, can’t make God accept something
different than what God has already
prescribed in his word.
8. 2Cor 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin
for us, who knew no sin; that we might be
made the righteousness of God in him.
Heb 9:14 How much more shall the blood of
Christ, who through the eternal Spirit
offered himself without spot to God, purge
your conscience from dead works to serve
the living God?
Heb 9:22 And almost all things are by the
law purged with blood; and without
shedding of blood is no remission.
1Pet 1:19 But with the precious blood of
Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and
without spot:
1John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is
in the light, we have fellowship one with
another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his
Son cleanseth us from all sin.
