Finmeccanica: new orders worth about EUR 173 million
Finmeccanica won new orders for a total value of about EUR 173 million through its companies DRS
Technologies, Ansaldo Energia, Ansaldo STS and SELEX Galileo.
DRS Technologies has been awarded a USD 68.7 million contract for Tank Rack Modules (TRM) for
the U.S. Army’s Modular Fuel System (MFS). In addition to this order, the company has received a
USD 31.9 million award from the U.S. Army for program support, field service and logistics related to
the DRS Mast Mounted Sight (MMS) on the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior helicopter.
Ansaldo Energia, which is jointly controlled by Finmeccanica and First Reserve Corporation, has won
a maintenance contract in Spain worth around EUR 42 million for the Escatron and Algeciras
combined-cycle thermoelectric plants of E.ON Generacion, the Spanish company owned by E.ON,
one of the world's biggest private energy groups. The maintenance contract for the two plants will run
for nine years, and includes the supply of strategic spare parts and innovative technological solutions
as well as standard services and spares. In addition to this order, Ansaldo Energia has been awarded
a EUR 20 million contract by Enel Green Power. The order covers the supply of three 20 MW steam
turbines and relevant generators for the geothermic power plant of Piancastagnaio (Siena, Italy).
Ansaldo STS has been awarded by POSCO E&C a contract worth USD 27.5 million to provide overall
driverless signalling systems of the Ui-Shinseol LRT in Seoul (South Korea). Ansaldo STS, in
cooperation with Korean partners, will design, supply, test and commissioning all signalling system
and subsystems of new driverless Line. Commercial service of the new line is estimated by October
2015.
SELEX Galileo has recently been awarded contracts worth approximately EUR 15 million for support
and service solution activities in the export marketplace. Recent orders include support arrangements
for the FLIR111 navigation system, support for the Grifo radar and contracts for the logistic support of
unmanned aerial systems (MIRACH 100/5 and FALCO).
