STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Scientific professional with experience in molecular Biology including over 10 years of
experience in cellular biology, parasitology and entomology research where I have been involved
in various projects focused on neglected tropical infectious diseases diagnostic tools. I am
experienced with techniques for RNA and DNA molecular manipulation as
enrichment/purification, and ds-cDNA production. I worked with a broad spectrum of pathogen
Leishmania and Lymphatic Filariasis. Extensive knowledge of emerging infectious diseases,
effectiveness in international environments, as well as substantial experience with laboratory
techniques, field studies, and public health communities.
I instructed many NGS projects for Honor Thesis students and collaborated with other labs in
the RNA-Seq work. I managed the DNA/RNA extractions with the most purified RNA and DNA
from Filarial parasites, constructed libraries for both RNA-Seq and whole genome sequencing
and prepared samples to run on the MiSeq. I also, experienced in data analysis for RNA-Seq and
genomic DNA projects. Data manipulation for quality control, de nova assembly mapping and
alignment using Cufflink, Cuffmerge, Trinity assembly, TopHat, Bowtie, HTSeq-count, DESeq
and DESeq2. Experience in using R and RStudio for visualizing data of the Cuffdiff or DESeq
output data.
