Light of Hope introduces a new charity model to solve one of the biggest challenges of our generation - helping children to develop future skills like creativity, imagination and problem-solving skills by setting up crowd-funded school library program in Bangladesh.

Light of Hope is the largest education-based social enterprise in Bangladesh directly
impacting over 100,000+ children in more than 300 schools in Bangladesh.
We help children to improve future skills like creativity, problem-solving, emotional
intelligence and moral values through our various services.
3. http://porua.org
As part of our social impact, we are on a mission to bring story books to 3 million
primary school children in Bangladesh. We set up low-cost school libraries with
age-appropriate story books.
4. Why it’s important?
We establish affordable libraries with age appropriate story books
to improve creativity, imagination and reading skill among school
children in underprivileged schools.
30% students in Bangladesh completing primary level, lack basic
reading skills.
Out of 100,000 primary schools, less than 5% schools have
libraries.
5. 100% Charity Model
100% of the monetary support goes directly to purchase books, book shelf and
related procurement. Instead of donation, you can also purchase and donate
books directly to us to set up library. Light of Hope covers all the relevant
operation cost including human resource cost to run Porua program.
Total Transparency
The individual and organizational supporter will know where the library was set
up, the pictures of the library and the GPS location of the school directly from our
website. We also send email, invite the donor during library inauguration to show
exactly how your contribution is making an impact.
7. Porua Library
To purchase 250 books, we need about BDT 30,000.
250 books for different age group.
Student Librarian training to maintain the operation.
A library impacts 500 students right after setting up.
Our partner organizations take responsibility of 10, 20, 30 or more
libraries in a year.
