Polymath Journal is an artist & business development journal in development. Our first issue is bound to hit shelves September 2015, and we are currently sorting out columnists, advertisers and investors to bring the journal to fruition.
1. PolymathJournal
Polymath Journal exists to serve the artistic community with interdisciplinary articles on
professional development, while highlighting art, music, film & literature done well.
2. Mission Statement
Polymath is a journal dedicated to the
professional development of the artist/
musician/filmmaker/author through
informative columns featuring successful
artists, scientists & business people and
highlighting art, music, film & literature done
well. To be an artist, one must be a consummate
human being. The interplay of art and
philosophy, language, sound and science is
undeniably intrinsic to the human condition.
This is where Polymath excels. Polymath is one
part literary and art journal, one part artist
& business development journal and one part
science. We as artists need to ground ourselves
in our natural world and scientific discoveries
are a massive part of that grounding.
Dear Reader,
If you’re reading this you’re an artist and an
investor.Hopefullyboth.Thankyou.Yourservice
to the artistic community is what turns lines,
dots and dashes of black on a white page into
literary gold. It’s what brings a person to tears
while their eyes cross a painting or photograph.
It’s what makes a film remembered for years to
come. Simply put, Polymath is here to remind
us that art, music, film and literature cannot
stand alone. Each area of expertise has its own
guidelinesandexperience,butisinterdependent.
By strengthening these interdependencies and
helping artists develop as multi disciplinarians,
we plan to enhance the Art Scene as a whole.
No work of art can be sustained without
audience. An audience comes through
networking, advertising, being seen: it comes
throughbusiness.Bydeferringtoknowledgeable
and successful artists, musicians, filmmakers,
professors and authors we are able to show the
emerging arts scene how the business of the
arts works. That combination of showcase and
professional development makes Polymath a
future rockstar in the West Coast Arts Scene.
Sincerely,
Ms. Liz Ratajczak Ratel
CEO Vraeyda Media Inc.
