Experience:
Outbound Solutions – (July 2016 – Present)
Outbound Solutions is a B2B lead generation agency which provides expert sales expertise to support
its clients in winning new business. As well as my day to day role as a Business Development
Manager for clients, I am also responsible for assisting with copy and social media management for
Outbound Solutions. I write relevant blog articles for the company’s website and make regular
updates to its Twitter and Facebook pages. Some examples of my work can be found here.
Page On Stage – (June 2016 – Present)
Page On Stage is a theatre blog I started for the purposes of discussing theatre news, writing reviews
of shows I’ve seen, and connecting with other people passionate about the theatre industry.
Madame Moxie’s Masquerade – (June 2014 – Present)
A melting pot of cabaret, variety, and burlesque, Madame Moxie’s Masquerade is an immersive
performance experience which creates a platform for amateur and semi-professional performers to try
out new work in an intimate and open minded environment. The show has a Victorian Music Hall
aesthetic and invites guests to dress accordingly, with interactive songs, games, and competitions
between guest performances. I founded Madame Moxie’s Masquerade in Falmouth (Cornwall) after
noticing a lack of ‘alternative’ variety spaces available in the area. There have been eight shows to
date, for which I have been responsible for social media management, events planning, marketing,
casting, and curating. To take a look at what we’re all about find us on Facebook and also on
YouTube.
Booked Magazine - (March 2013 – September 2016)
Booked Magazine is a publication aimed at 11-18 year-olds which focuses on promoting literacy in a
fun way. It goes out to schools nationwide and has a readership of 100,000+. It contains feature
articles, interviews, and reviews about film, television, music, video games, and sport. I have
contributed over sixty articles across twelve issues of Booked Magazine, all of which can be found on
the online issues at the Booked Website.
Cream Cornwall – (Winter 2015)
As a growing interior design and homewares retailer Cream Cornwall were looking for someone to
fill an 8 week temporary social media and marketing role during a crucial period before opening their
first high street store. This role involved managing their social media (Twitter, Tumblr, and
Facebook), putting together a portfolio of their press, and providing copy for their website such as
new product descriptions.
Young Writers Award – (Summer 2015)
The Young Writers Prize is an award created by Falmouth University for aspiring young writers
between the ages of 14-18. I was asked to judge on the Falmouth Young Writers Prize 2015 on a panel
alongside YA novelist Allan Boroughs. I read through a shortlist of twelve entries and helped to select
the three finalists. During the awards ceremony I was then invited to present my own creative work
to the shortlisted writers and other guests.
Source FM – (February 2014)
The local radio station Source FM in Falmouth was looking for a spoken word project to air. In
response to this brief I produced a seven episode spoken word show called Crumpled Paper, which was
set in a jazz café serving recipes of words written and performed by a dozen young writers from
Falmouth University.
BBC Writers Room - (Summer 2012)
I took part in a four week work experience placement with the BBC Writers Room. My
responsibilities included filing new scripts, helping to manage events, calling writers with feedback
on their scripts, and representing the Writers Room at local events including the premiere of
Channel 4’s ‘Coming Up’ short film series, and a show at The Soho Theatre.
