8. The sewer
systemq A channel system of pipelines used to
carry sewage is called the sewer

9. Many of our major rivers such as Ganga and
Yamuna receive tons of Holy Waste Untreated
Sewage waste thereby making the water for
drinking and unfit for other domestics uses.
Another problem which can occur in leakages in
several where the water get mixed with sewage.
Due to faulty sewer lines the dirt often flows into
the open.
The process:-

rivers often untreated

11. Sanitary sewers are distinguished from open sewers in that
the sanitary system is closed off from its surroundings to
limit interaction between the waste and the landscape that it
travels through. They are also usually distinguished
from combined sewers, which handle not only sewage but
also surface runoff. Open sewers, consisting of gutters and
urban streambeds, were common worldwide before the 20th
century. In now-developed countries, large efforts were made
during the late 19th and early 20th centuries to cover the
formerly open sewers, converting them to closed systems
with cast iron, steel, or concrete pipes, masonry, and concrete
arches. Open sewers are not used in developed countries

12. Wastewater treatmentWastewater treatment is a process to
convert wastewater - which is water no
longer needed or suitable for its most
recent use - into an effluent that can be
either returned to the water cycle with
minimal environmental issues or
reused.
The latter is called water
reclamation and
implies avoidance of disposal by use of
treated wastewater effluent for various
purposes. Treatment means removing
impurities from water being treated;
and
some methods of treatment are
applicable
to both water and wastewater. The
physical
infrastructure used for wastewater
treatment is called a "wastewater
