2. PROBLEM
● Dependency on LPG is really high.
● Sufficient alternatives are not many, of those
available Induction cookers and Pellet stoves
which are either costly or bulky.
● Distribution of LPG is a complex and unsafe
process.
● Prices of LPG are ever increasing.
● And cooking is an unavoidable daily activity.
3. SOLUTION
● Our product, Aerogas uses highly efficient electrolysis of water.
● Water is easily available ,so a system which uses water as fuel will be
greatly accepted,
● Can be easily integrated with the existing set-up.
● Low energy consumption 300 watt for domestic and 1000watt for
commercial purposes.
● Hybrid mode works on 40% LPG and 60 % hydrogen and oxygen mixture.
● In case of power failure operating mode can be shifted to LPG only.
● Total savings of 400-600 rs per cylinder used when unsubsidised cylinders
are considered(1650 per cylinder).
● Reduce operating costs by up-to 45% even though initial cost is higher
● Faster cooking as hydrogen releases 3 times more heat than lpg.
● Biogas integration also possible .
4. SAFETY
● Hydrogen production is instantaneous, there is no storage of hydrogen ,at
any instant of time the hydrogen required for burning at that instant is only
produced unlike lpg which uses compressed storage.
● No pressurised or closed cylinders involved .
● Even in case of a leakage hydrogen rises up and easily escapes unlike lpg
which floats below air and causes dangerous explosion.
● Hydrogen has a lower burning concentration of 4% in air which is double
than that of lpg. ie if leakage happens in a closed small room of 2m*2m*4m.it
will require about 14hrs of leakage to cause an explosion.
● Similar concept of hydrogen production from water have been used in
cars ,which uses hho kits that supply a small amount of hydrogen with petrol
for better mileage.
5. TECHNOLOGY
● Uses electrolysis to split water to hydrogen and oxygen.
● Total efficiency close to 62%.(efficiency of lpg cooking is 25-35%
only)
● Attained by using patent pending electrolysis cell design and burner
designs.
● Adding aerogas increases the efficiency of lpg thereby increasing the
overall efficiency.
● The calorific value of hydrogen is at least 3 times more than that of
any other gases.
● Instant gas production ,no storage required.
● Uses cheap and readily available materials and it can be assembled
easily .
● ZERO POLLUTION .
6. MARKET
● Of the 1.2 billion people India, 30% use LPG.
● About 50,000 listed hotels and almost 20 times
more unlisted hotels/restaurants and canteens
use LPG for commercial cooking.
● Initially our test market will consist of hotels in
and around kochi,kerala only.
● Potential to capture total of 2-3% of market
share in the next 5 years.
7. MARKET STUDY
● People are cautious to move to a new
technology and move out of their comfort zone.
They require a proven record even to consider
investing in.
● They have safety concerns and we need a
safety certification although our product has
negligible safety issues.
● They are even ready to pay higher for a good
solid product.
Data from 50 hotels in and around KOCHI.

9. BUSINESS UNIT ECONOMICS:HOW DO
YOU MAKE MONEY
● PHASE 1: Sell single burner designs at lower
prices so people can test the device and know
the results .This will also give us adequate time
for R&D for high end models and also models
for domestic use.
● Phase 2:Sell complete solutions to hotels at
larger price .It will include lpg, biogas and
aerogas integration on all the cooking needs
and also sell a small low output versions to
houses.
10. DRAWBACKS
● Consumes electricity ,so rising electricity
charges may be a problem.
● Can only be used in hybrid mode.
● People are scared to use hydrogen even
though its safe .
11. COMPETITION
● No direct competitors till now,but if aerogas
gains sizeable market share in this widely
unexplored market we expect other players to
step in.
● All oil ,gas ,induction and pellet stove
companies are indirect competitors
12. FINANCING
● 1.5 lakhs have been put in the past 8 months
for developing prototype ,the money was raised
by the company by working on service projects.
● 60,000 was raised from friends and family.
● Received a funding support for 1 lakh from
kerala state electricity board
● Seed fund of 3 lakh from startup village
sponsored by DST.
